What the $25 includes

Shaping the beard to suit your face rather than just taking length off evenly.
The cheek line defined — set where it flatters your face, not arbitrarily high.
The neckline cleaned up. Set too high it looks unnatural; left too low it looks unkempt. It belongs roughly at the point where your jaw meets your neck.
Moustache tidied and blended into the beard.
Blended into your haircut if you are having both, so the sideburns and beard read as one shape.

Shape matters more than length

The most common beard mistake is trimming for length and ignoring shape. A beard that is uniformly one length tends to make the face look rounder and shorter. What actually makes a beard look good is contrast — slightly shorter at the sides, fuller at the chin, which lengthens the face.

Keeping the line sharp between visits

Leave the cheek line alone. It is the easiest line to ruin and the slowest to recover. If you touch anything up, make it the neck.
Do not chase the neckline upward. Every time you tidy it a little higher, the beard shrinks. Set it once and hold that line.
Comb before you trim, and trim dry. Wet beard hair sits longer than it is.
Beard oil or balm helps with itch and makes a beard sit properly, especially in the first few weeks of growth.
Most clients come in every two to four weeks to keep the shape.

Walk in or book ahead. Walk-ins are welcome every day. Booking just means you are not waiting for a chair, which is worth doing on weekends and late afternoons.
